ADAMOS now with seven shareholders

  • KARL MAYER becomes seventh shareholder of joint venture ADAMOS GmbH
  • ADAMOS enhances its strong position in machinery and plant engineering further

The open, digital platform ADAMOS (ADAptive Manufacturing Open Solutions), set up by DMG MORI, Dürr, Software AG, ZEISS and ASM PT, is available around the world with support from 200 experts. After Engel Austria GmbH recently joined this strategic alliance for the future topic of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), the KARL MAYER group has now become a member as well.

KARL MAYER is an innovative market leader and pioneer in textile machine building and offers solutions for warp knitting and warp preparation for weaving as well as for technical textiles. CEO of the KARL MAYER Group Arno Gärtner: “Joining the strategic ADAMOS Alliance is the next step in our digitization strategy. ADAMOS brings together experts in mechanical engineering and information technology to help provide high added value for customers. With this involvement we will gain access to an open IIoT environment which is specifically focused on the needs of machinery and plant construction.”

As a pioneer in textile machine building, KARL MAYER pursues a broadly conceived digitization strategy: for one, the aim is to boost productivity within the company’s own added value chain to the customers’ benefit; and secondly, the intention is to develop new market-supporting business models, products and services involving digitization.

Back in November 2017, the company founded KARL MAYER Digital Factory GmbH in order to develop advanced digital competences in an agile environment. And now KARL MAYER Digital Factory GmbH too has taken a stake in ADAMOS GmbH. All seven companies are equal shareholders in ADAMOS GmbH, which is based in Darmstadt. They contribute their extensive sector expertise, innovative IT know-how as well as their existing solutions. These include digital marketplaces and a broad portfolio of apps. Other machine and plant manufacturers as well as component manufacturers can also take advantage of the ADAMOS range of services as partners.

Title figure: ADAMOS was founded as a strategic alliance for the future topics of Industry 4.0 and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). ADAMOS stands for ADAptive Manufacturing Open Solutions and is specially tailored to the needs of machinery and plant engineering companies and their customers. The vision at the revolutionary core of this global digitization initiative is to collaborate as equal ADAMOS partners to shape the digital future of mechanical engineering
