Mitsubishi Chemical at K 2019: A strong commitment to sustainability

Dusseldorf, Wiesbaden, 7 October 2019

At the K 2019 trade show, Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation will highlight its commitment towards sustainability and recent product developments in this field. These solutions can contribute to achieving a sustainable future in different ways. They can help to reduce the environmental footprint following the ‘reduce, re-use, recycle’ principles.

Light-weight materials like carbon fibers, or the high-performance thermoplastic composite solution Kyron®TEX, allow the aerospace and automotive industries to increase fuel efficiency and further reduce their environmental impact.

A new protoype for a reusable printing ”paper” e. g. for billboard applications will also be presented. The toner can be removed with a specially-engineered device enabling easy re-use of the printing film.

In the recycling section, there are solutions such as recycled polycarbonate compounds or Hostaphan® polyester film which contains 30 – 70 % PCR content.

Design for recycling is also a key element for Nichigo G-Polymer™, a butanediol-vinyl alcohol copolymer (BVOH). Besides excellent barrier properties, it can be easily dissolved and “washed-away” from multi-layer structures in a recycling process to reuse varietal polymers.

BioPBS™ (bio-based polybutylene succinate) is a bio-based and biodegradable polymer. Partially derived from natural resources, BioPBS™ has been designed to be compostable into biomass using specific facilities.

More ideas for products meeting the requirements of tomorrow, including 3DP solutions, can be found at the stand. Innovative industrial materials and performance products target five focus sectors: Mobility solutions; IT, electronics and display; medical, food and bio-products; environment, energy, building and construction; packaging, labels and films.

After a tour through the stand, Mitsubishi Chemical invites professionals and graduates to the careers corner to discover opportunities in a company that cares for the future.

You can find Mitsubishi Chemical at Stand FG 04.1 – a standalone building near Hall 4.
